HOW I LEAD

_ Lover of complex problems

_ Realistic perfectionist

_ Driven and goal-oriented

_ Open, positive and inclusive

_ Myers-Briggs Type: ENTJ (Commander)

// Structure scales judgment

I build teams that don't depend on me being in the room — clear roles, legible decision rights, and a strategic narrative that holds whether or not I'm the one telling it. My job is to scale good judgment through the people and systems around me, not to be the bottleneck it runs through. That's also why I believe in DesignOps as a discipline, not an afterthought: I've held the role myself, and I see daily what a team can do when removing friction is someone's actual job.

// Diagnose before you prescribe

Before I introduce process, tooling, or documentation, I want to understand why the gap exists. In a scaling organisation, the target state and the current reality are rarely the same thing — and importing a system the team isn't ready for creates more friction than it removes. At EPI, the first thing I did was replace a single person's email address as the intake point for content, localisation, and research with proper discipline-specific funnels. Not glamorous. But a single inbox is not a system, and it doesn't scale.

// We before me

When systems aren't the right lever yet, I focus on the team. That means clarity on roles and remits, a culture where feedback is direct and expected, and making sure everyone feels seen — not just the loudest voices. I run a weekly design newsletter to our leadership team, to which everyone contributes. It's a small thing, but it creates a consistent rhythm for celebrating work, surfacing blockers, and keeping the function visible to the people who matter.

// Outcomes over output

A team that ships a lot and moves the wrong needle hasn't done its job. That distinction shapes how I set priorities, how I evaluate the work, and how I talk about design's value to the rest of the organisation. Making the cost of quality visible — rework, inconsistency, unowned gaps — is part of how design earns a seat in decisions that shape the product.

// Hire for attitude, not just skill

I hire for attitude and curiosity as much as for hard skills. A growth mindset in the room improves how the whole team collaborates, builds resilience, and keeps raising the bar — long after any single project is done.
